About
About Diamond Valley Roller Derby Club (DVRDC)
Diamond Valley Roller Derby Club (DVRDC) is an open-gender, not-for-profit roller derby club based in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. We are a welcoming and inclusive community, all connected by a shared love of roller sports and community.
Established in 2011 by a small group of passionate skaters, DVRDC is proudly owned and operated by the skaters, for the skaters. We are driven by teamwork, inclusivity, and a commitment to creating a supportive environment where everyone can grow—on and off skates.
Who Can Join?
Anyone aged 16 and over is welcome to become a member of DVRDC.
Whether you want to:
* Learn how to skate
* Play roller derby
* Become a referee or non-skating official
* Or be involved without stepping onto 8 wheels
There’s a place for you in our club. We value diversity, encourage participation at all levels, and celebrate the many ways people contribute to our community.
Our Team: Diamond Firetails
DVRDC’s travelling team is proudly known as the Diamond Firetails. Our competitive journey has included several collaborations and evolutions over the years:

• 2020–2022: The Valley Cats (merged with Geelong Roller Derby & Gippsland Ranges)
• 2023–Present: DVRDC creates its own team - the Diamond Firetails!
Each chapter reflects our club’s adaptability, resilience, and commitment to roller derby at all levels.

DVRDC is proud to participate in a range of local, national and inclusive tournaments, including:

More Than a Club
At its heart, DVRDC is about community, empowerment, and fun. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where people can challenge themselves, build confidence, and be part of something meaningful—no matter their role.
