Do I need to know how to skate? No! Many of our members took their very first steps on skates with us. Our beginner program is designed to teach you everything from the ground up, and our coaches and members will support you every step (and wobble!) of the way. |
Am I too old? Absolutely not! Roller derby is for adults of all ages, and people join our club at every stage of life. Whether you're looking for a new challenge, a fun way to get active, or a welcoming community, you'll fit right in. |
Do I need my own gear? Nope! We have loan gear available, including skates and protective equipment, so you don't need to invest in your own gear before you know if roller derby is for you. The only thing you need to buy is a mouthguard. |
Is roller derby safe? Roller derby is a full-contact sport, so there's always some risk of injury. However, safety is our top priority. Our Learn to Skate and Play Roller Derby program focuses on skating skills, safe falls and controlled contact before you progress. |
What if I'm unfit? That's completely okay! You don't need to be fit to start roller derby—getting fitter is part of the journey. Everyone starts at a different level, and our training is designed to help you build your fitness, strength, and confidence at your own pace. |

How often do you train? We train twice a week. On Sundays, we train 2.30-4pm at the Eltham Leisure Centre. On Tuesdays, we train 7-8pm at Viewbank College.
